To be eligible for the January Housing, you must meet one of the qualifications listed below:

Qualifications – Housing priority given to one or more of the following:

  1. Academic Internships (Field Work) with faculty email confirmation
  2. International Student
  3. Athlete-Approved by Athletic Department
  4. Employed by the University during January (min. 20 hrs/wk.)


The room and board cost for January 2017, is $605 ($55 per day).


College students who qualify must complete the January Experience Housing Application by December 8, 2016. Applications can be completed on-line by going to the link below.  Be sure you select the application for January 2017 Housing.


January Residence Halls

You are permitted to stay in your current room, however, if there are insufficient numbers of other students also staying in your residence hall you will be relocated to a vacant room in Tolley or Brown halls. This measure is for your safety and security and you will be notified prior to Wednesday, January 4, 2017, should the need occur for you to relocate.

Cancellation-Refund Policy

There is a $50 charge for canceling housing prior to the day that you are to start January Housing and, a $100 charge for canceling after the date your requested housing period begins.

January Experience – Date To Occupy/Check-in

Prior to checking in, you must have fully paid for January Housing at the Business Office and your balance cleared.

Move-in will occur on Wednesday, January 4, 2017, beginning at 4 p.m.

Please note:  The Facilities Department is planning on work to the University electrical system on January 2nd or 3rd and power will be out to all of campus, therefore, move-in to January Housing will occur on January 4, 2017.

Your student ID card is required to check-in.

ID Cards & Meals

All meals will be served in either the Food Court or the Commons and begin with dinner on first evening of check-in, and end with dinner the night prior to the Spring semester beginning.  Your student ID card will be required for admission to the Food Court during the January Experience.

Date to Vacate & Crossover

January Experience residents who are not registered for the spring semester and students who are not cleared with the Business Office will not be permitted to stay beyond January 15, 2017.  These students must vacate their rooms prior to the Spring semester beginning.

January residents are responsible for all rules and policies.  Students will be charged for room damage and common area damage.
