Students who wish to be evaluated for graduation must apply on Treehouse at:

Drew has three degree conferral terms but only one Commencement ceremony, held each year in May. Walking in Commencement is not a guarantee that you have graduated and had your degree conferred.

Please adhere to the following application Deadlines:

  • December graduation: the last Friday in September
  • May graduation: the Wednesday before Thanksgiving of the previous year
  • August graduation: May 1.

(Note that if you do not complete all requirements, your application will be rolled to the next appropriate term in order to be reconsidered for graduation.)

All academic requirements, including resolution of all Incomplete (I), Not reported (NR) grades must be resolved before Commencement Day. All official transcripts verifying completion of off campus work must be provided.

After all your degree requirements have been certified, your diploma will be ordered and sent to you at the address you specified on the graduation application.

Undergraduate students are permitted to walk in commencement if they are anticipated to be complete with all requirements on Commencement day, or if they will have no more than 4 credits remaining to complete. This allows August graduates to walk in the preceding May ceremony. December graduates may participate in the following May Commencement.

Theological School students may participate in May commencement if they are within three credits of completion of their degree. A statement of completion plans must be sent to the Registrar’s office in April.

Casperson School students are not permitted to participate in the May Commencement unless all requirements have been completed prior to Commencement day.

Students receiving degrees are expected to participate in the commencement ceremonies wearing appropriate academic dress (cap, gown, and hood). A candidate unable to participate in the ceremonies must submit to his/her academic dean a written request to be excused and awarded the degree in absentia.

In addition to having met all academic requirements, students must

  • Settle all financial obligations
  • Return all library materials
  • Return all keys
