#Drew21: Meet Alexander, Julia and Yusef
Pursuing psychology, business and chemistry.
In fall 2017, we’re welcoming 372 new undergraduate students from 26 states and 18 countries. Get to know a few of them below.
Morris Catholic High School
Alexander is passionate about fencing, training five days a week and serving as captain of Morris Catholic’s fencing team for the past four years. Another big interest? Psychology—he took advanced placement classes on the subject and participated in the psychology club. At Drew, he’ll continue to fence and major in psychology.
Why Alexander chose Drew:
“I enjoy smaller class sizes. I am a student who asks a lot of questions and often visits teachers for extra help after class hours. Drew provides the perfect classroom environment for students like me, who plan on always being able to communicate with my teachers.”
Saint John Vianney High School
Julia’s love for basketball helped her make captain during her senior year at Saint John Vianney’s renowned basketball program. In her spare time, she volunteers to help young girls develop fundamental basketball skills. She also enjoys reading and travel. In The Forest, she plans to major in business.
Why Julia chose Drew:
“Because of the close proximity to New York City, small campus and athletics.”
Suffern High School
With a passion for math and science, Yusef expects to major in chemistry with the goal of entering the medical field and fulfilling his desire to help others. Outside of school, he enjoys spending time with family and friends and playing basketball.
Why Yusef chose Drew:
“I have several friends attending Drew and have only heard great things from them. When I visited, I felt more welcomed than I could have imagined. Everyone made me feel at home and I felt that Drew was the perfect fit.”
