Please note that this is the message sent to all active students once tax information is posted for the current year:
2014 1098-T TAX FORMS are now available on-line through TreeHouse. To access your 1098-T form electronically, log into your TreeHouse account, click the Students tab, and then click on the “1098T Tax Statement” link located under the Student Accounts Office section of the “Financial Aid & Student Employment” box — it appears towards the bottom right of the screen. Make sure to enter the tax year you want to view (i.e. 2012, 2013, 2014, etc.). You will need a PDF reader program in order to view the form.
For more information about the IRS form 1098-T please click here. Note: Per IRS rules and regulations, we report the qualifying charges billed as well as qualifying scholarships and grants (and their corresponding dates) and not the amount paid to the University on students behalf.
Request for Paper Statement:
Upon registration, all students consented to receive their 1098-T tax statement electronically. If you are unable to access the electronic version, email a paper form request to firstname.lastname@example.org. 1098-T tax statements cannot be faxed, emailed, or handed out in office. 1098-T statements will be mailed to the student alone. If a parent, guardian, or other third party needs your 1098-T, please see the note below.
1098-T tax forms are available to parents, guardians, and other third parties who are granted access to the 1098-T within TreeHouse Proxy. They will not receive this email or additional alerts, so please forward this to any individuals with proxy access that you feel need this alert. You can set up access for your parent(s) and/or guardian(s) today so that they can access the tax information as tax season comes upon us.
To set up Proxy Access to TreeHouse Self-Service:
· Navigate to the TreeHouse Students Tab.
· Select Parent/Guardian Proxy Access within the Help & Services box.
· Follow the on-screen instructions to add new proxies and set up authorization to the desired information.
A printable guide to proxy access is also available by clicking here.
Note: If you fall under one of the following categories, your information will not be furnished to the IRS as you do not fit the requirements set forth by the IRS: Auditors, Exchange, Non-Resident Aliens, and if your scholarships and grants are greater than or equal to the charges billed for qualified tuition and related expenses. Tuition remission and Tuition exchange are reported in the scholarships and grants category.
