Commencement Guidelines for Guests and Graduates

It’s Commencement week, and we are so excited to celebrate our graduates!

This page contains important information regarding this weekend’s in-person ceremonies, including mandatory health & safety protocols, parking details, check-in procedures, and other ceremony guidelines.

We thank all of our graduates and guests for their patience during the planning process, as well as for their cooperation this weekend, as we safely honor and celebrate the Classes of 2020 and 2021 in The Forest.

Graduate Guidelines

·PARKING: All graduates parking on campus must enter through the Glenwild Road entrance. Parking for graduates will be in the back of campus—in the Glenwild lot, HERB Circle, Asbury lot, Hoyt-Brown lot, behind Welch-Holloway, or along Riker Road. Parking will be available for all graduates starting 90 minutes prior to their designated commencement ceremony. In the event that graduates are carpooling with guests attending the ceremony, the vehicle should park in the designated guest parking lot and enter through Lancaster Avenue entrance. Graduates should proceed to the graduate check-in location on the Ehinger Center front patio while guests go directly to the check-in at Ranger Stadium.

·CHECK-IN: Graduates must check in at the Ehinger Center front patio beginning one hour prior to the ceremony.

·SEATING: Graduates must remain seated in their designated seating area during the ceremony unless otherwise instructed. Graduate and guest seating will be separate.

·RESTROOMS: Restrooms will be available in the Ehinger Center for graduates prior to the procession start.

·FOOD & DRINK: NO food, including gum, or drinks (other than water) will be permitted inside Ranger Stadium. Do not bring large bags or backpacks. Weapons, fireworks, cans, bottles (other than water bottles), alcoholic beverages, or laser pointers will not be allowed inside the venue.

·REGALIA: All graduates should come robed in their appropriate regalia. Graduates will not be permitted to process without proper regalia. Any graduates with hoods, honor cords, or graduate stoles should arrive ready to process.

·ATTIRE: Graduates will process onto the turf field. No heels or pointed shoes will be permitted to prevent damage to the turf. All ceremonies are rain or shine and include a processional walk, so please dress appropriately. A reminder that face coverings must be worn at all times. Festive mortar boards and face coverings are highly encouraged!

·ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS: Have a question about your upcoming ceremony? Check out our FAQ page! Any remaining questions can be sent to universityevents@drew.edu.
