Stories from The Forest: Oral History Project with PCI
With more than 22,000 living alumni, it would take many years to meet with each of you individually. That’s why we’ve decided to embark on a new project to collect the stories of alums in your own words, with the help of our partnership with PCI. These stories will be preserved in a book that celebrates the impact Drew has had on your lives and who you are today. Every year we don’t capture and preserve these stories feels like another opportunity lost, so we’re excited to get started today!
We hope you share YOUR Drew story, but here are a few ideas to consider:
With only our resources, we’d never be able to tackle a project like this. By partnering with PCI, we’re able to access their trained staff of real, thoughtful human beings who are excited to listen to what you have to share. PCI will also help collect and assemble the stories into the book that we will be available to alums once assembled. This project is being done at no cost to Drew or for Drew alums and we sincerely thank every person that participates and chooses to purchase the book at the conclusion of the project. Other Drew items may be available for purchase through PCI, but there is never any obligation to make a purchase. Our singular goal is to hear your stories.
Soon you will be receiving email and postcard communications from the PCI team with instructions on how to participate by setting up an interview time with a PCI team member.
We’d like to invite you to share one of your stories and take part in this groundbreaking project to honor the experiences and voices of our alumni body.
The PCI team will collect stories until about August 2021.
After that, they will enter a post-production phase editing the data and requesting your approval (more details here). We hope to have the book distributed in late 2021/early 2022.
As part of this project, we are also taking this opportunity to help make it easier for you to stay connected to Drew. PCI will help us collect updated contact information from those of you who may have moved and/or inadvertently lost touch with your alma mater.
NOTE: Drew receives no financial benefit from this arrangement with PCI.
We have answers to the questions alumni ask most often.
