Senior Vice President for Enrollment & Institutional Planning

Robert J. Massa

Dr. Massa oversees admissions, enrollment operations and information services, financial aid, athletics, the career development center, institutional research and the registrar. He is a frequent speaker and blogger on selective college admissions and financial aid issues. He enjoys choral music, hiking and biking and spending time with his three young grandsons.

Jim Skiff

Jim’s career encompasses a lifetime in education and admissions counseling. At Drew, he oversees the admission of undergraduates—first-years and transfers—to the College of Liberal Arts. He regularly speaks to prospective families and educational organizations about the college search and selection processes and issues affecting higher education. A long-time member of NACAC, Jim is frequently sought as a speaker at events. In his undergraduate days, Jim majored in Latin American Studies. When at home he enjoys gardening, reading and golf.

Marybeth Tamburro (C’81)

Marybeth brings to her role as Senior Associate Director multiple degrees in economics, international business, and an MBA in corporate finance. She combines this background with her teaching and admissions counseling experience to provide a unique level of service to our prospective students and families. On weekends, Marybeth can be found swimming, golfing and cheering on her son in hockey games.

Senior Associate Director of Independent School and Counselor Relations

Chris Teare

Chris brings more than three decades in independent and international schools in the Caribbean, Europe and the United States home to Drew, where he used the library as a high school student in nearby Summit. Also a journalist, Chris contributes to Forbes. He has three beautiful daughters, enjoys season’s tickets to The Shakespeare Theater of New Jersey and is a Drew Lacrosse fan. He oversees Drew’s relationships with independent schools nation-wide.

Director, West Coast Admission

Elena Wong

Based in San Francisco, Elena assists students in the Western United States and Southeast Asia throughout the admissions process. A leader in WACAC, she is also much in demand as a speaker on college recruitment panels and workshops throughout the country. Elena brings to her work an impressive background in the social sciences. When not advising students, she is famous for her cooking and catering fabulous weddings.

Regional Director for International Recruitment and Admissions

Radek Coufal

Radek serves as Drew’s lead international officer. He assists students from all corners of the globe through the admissions process. His office is currently based in Prague, Czech Republic. His undergraduate studies included British and American Studies followed by graduate level studies in Media, Communication and Public Relations. He enjoys reading, playing squash and spending time with his family.

Assistant Director of Admissions

Anne Hager

Anne conducts application review and travel throughout New York and parts of Connecticut. Back on campus, she counsels students and families and can be found at virtually all events. Anne’s degree is in English and creative writing. In her leisure time, she loves to sing.

Bobby Miskura (C ’16)

Bobby brings first-hand knowledge of life in The Forest as a proud alum of Drew. In college, he studied business, was a student ambassador and played baseball for the Rangers. Bobby travels and provides admissions counseling throughout several counties in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. When not working, Bobby can be found outdoors whenever possible, watching baseball and spending time with family and friends.

Robert Gordon

Robert works with students interested in becoming a part of the Educational Opportunity Scholars (EOS) Program. He travels through most of southern New Jersey, Essex and Hudson counties and other schools in New Jersey. As a student at Drew University, Robert studied English and Gender Studies and was involved with several clubs on campus. He enjoys reading and writing about different cultures on the weekends and trying new vegan recipes.

Karen Kothe

Based in New England, Karen brings over 20 years of experience in college admissions counseling to prospective students in Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. She has enduring interests in the intersection of popular culture and intellectual life and the role of liberal arts education in our society. A proud parent of twin sons, Karen resides in Maine and spends some of her spare time in cultural travels, especially in France.

Marisa Portuesi Petryna

An alumna of the College of Liberal Arts, Marisa has happily returned to The Forest to recruit the next generation of Drew graduates. Working with both transfer and first-time student populations, she divides her time mainly between Long Island and New Jersey. When not on the road, Marisa enjoys practicing yoga and scouting out new trails to hike.

Sunita B. Bhargava

Sunita works with a diverse group of individuals including transfer, visiting, post-baccalaureate and high school students. She counsels students looking to earn their undergraduate degree at Drew, whether they be first-time college students, those returning to complete a degree started previously or transfer students. In addition, she manages Drew’s SummerTerm and JanTerm Programs. She is a graduate of Drew’s College of Liberal Arts and the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies. Sunita enjoys traveling and meeting new people. During the weekends she enjoys cooking traditional family recipes for family and friends.
