Lieutenant Fabio LaManna patrols by ATV

The ATV Patrol Unit was started in July of 2008.  The Department of Public Safety was fortunate to have an All Terrain Vehicle donated by the New Jersey State Law Enforcement Officers Association, Local 66, along with Moose Lodge 816. The ATV’s main functions are for patrolling pathways and other areas on campus that vehicles cannot easily access.  It will be used as an additional patrol method to save gas and be more environmentally friendly.  Officers riding the ATV must undergo a rigorous and comprehensive training certification process, before using the vehicle for patrol. Like our Bicycle Patrol Unit, the ATV makes officers more accessible to the public and promotes interaction between officers and the community.
