8:30 – 9:45 AM: Breakfast (The Commons)

9 AM – 9:45 AM: Survey Time (The Commons)

  • At breakfast your Orientation Leader will provide you with a survey, be sure to complete it and return the survey to your OC before the 10 a.m. session!

10 AM – 12 PM: Diversity at Drew

  • Join us at this program on diversity at Drew to learn about the incredible community of learners we have on our campus. 

12 PM – 1 PM: Lunch

1 PM – 2 PM: Drew Seminar (DSEM) Class

  • Your first full day on campus includes spending time with your Drew Seminar. Note: this is your first DSEM class – do not miss it! Check your name tag for your instructor’s name and classroom location.

2 PM -3 PM: First Year Academic Advisor Meeting

  • This is a group meeting with your Academic Adviser; bring any and all questions. 

3 – 5 PM: Placement Exams

Refer to the Placement Exam website for additional information:

  • 3 – 5 p.m. – Language Exams (Academic Commons; Library 1st Fl.)
    • Language Placement Exams: Arabic, Chinese, Spanish (all other exams are online!)
  • 3 – 4 p.m. Biology Placement Exam (Academic Commons; Library 1st Fl.)
    • This exam is only for students who have received a 4 or 5 on the AP Biology Exam and are seeking exemption from the lecture component of Biology 150.
      • Bring a pen or pencil and a basic (not scientific) calculator.

The following placement exams can be taken at any time, from your personal computer:

Math Placement Exam – You must request a login to take this exam.

  • This is an online exam that you can take at any time from your personal computer
  • Calculators are not permitted.
  • Students who plan to take calculus (MATH 150) must take this exam.

Chemistry Placement Exam – this exam is online; it exam can be taken at any time from any location on campus. 

5 – 6:30 PM: Dinner (The Commons)

7 – 8:30 PM: “After the Fire” with Alvaro and Shawn (Baldwin Gym)

  • Alvaro and Shawn talk about their experience of being college burn victims nation-wide at many colleges across the country. They are advocates for fire safety and prevention so that no other students will have to endure the pain that they suffered.
