In an effort to make Drew’s online calendar as dynamic as possible, the Webmasters’ Office has integrated the input form for events into the larger WordPress content management platform.  The switch to WordPress will not only make it easier to publicize your upcoming events on the Drew website, but it will also result in faster data entry and more reliable service.

In entering your events, if you believe they have broad appeal that extends outside the immediate Drew community, then they might be eligible to be featured on the university homepage.  Please contact Michael Bressman at mbressma@drew.edu for more information or to suggest that an event be featured.

To post new events or edit existing ones, please visit http://drew.edu/calendar/.  Before you get started, please refer to the guide below for simple instructions about using the new interface.

Adding an Event

  1. Go to the calendar at drew.edu/calendar/
  2. Click on the ‘Add Your Event‘ button.  If you are not logged in, the system will prompt you to do so.
  3. Fill in the form with details about your event
Note: the Webmasters’ Office has tried to pre-populate event locations and sponsors based on information that was found in the old calendar system.  Before creating a new location or sponsor, please check to see if the one you want already exists.
  4. Submit your event
    • Faculty and staff will be able to add their events by simply clicking the publish button
    • Events published by students will be marked as pending until they are approved by Student Activities.  Students will be prompted to click the Submit for Review button.
  5. Once you are finished adding events, you will be able to see a list of your postings.  This allows for easy access in case the need for editing arises.

Editing Your Events

  1. Log into the calendar at http://www.drew.edu/calendar/wp-admin/
  2. Select Events from the menu on the left side of the screen.
  3. You will then see a list of all your events. Select which one you’d like to edit by clicking on it.
