Drew takes a holistic approach to reviewing your application for admission. Admission decisions are based on the strength of your academic record as well as extra-curricular involvement. We will consider your college grade-point average, essay and recommendations. If you have earned less than 24 college credits, we may also consider your high school grades and course of study. Transfer students are not required to submit the results from standardized tests such as the SAT or ACT, but may choose to do so.
We recognize that you have invested a lot of time in your studies already, so Drew allows you to transfer up to 80 credits. In order to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree from Drew, you must complete at least 128 credits, with a minimum of 48 credits taken at Drew.
Transfer credits are granted for courses in which you have earned a C- or better (on a 4.0 scale) and are comparable to courses offered at Drew. Credit is not granted for basic skills or remedial course work.
Credits are transferred based on a semester-hour system. Please be aware that credits from schools on a quarter-hour or trimester system may receive less than a one-for-one rate.
Once you are admitted to Drew, you will be sent an evaluation of which credits can be transferred. Prior to that, we are happy to provide a same-day preliminary evaluation of your transcript so you know which credits are likely to be accepted by Drew.
Drew University requires international transfer applicants to provide an accurate conversion of previous college course work to United States course equivalencies. Many international transfer students use World Educational Services to provide these equivalencies. Be sure to always request the “course to course” evaluation report.
