Online BGTS Courses

Drew Theological School offers a substantial number of courses for the United Methodist Basic Graduate Theological Studies (BGTS) as online courses.  These include three courses that are necessary for United Methodists – both semesters of United Methodist History Doctrine and Polity as well as the course on Evangelism in the Methodist tradition. The following courses are scheduled to be offered:

Spring 2012:

  • Logon 261 – United Methodist History, Doctrine and Polity 2
  • Logon 301 – Systematic Theology
  • Logon 735 – Hymnology

Summer 2012:

  • TBD

Fall 2012:

  • Logon 260 – United Methodist History, Doctrine and Polity 1
  • Logon 240 – A Short course in United Methodist History, Doctrine and Polity (for certification)

Spring 2013:

  • Logon 261- United Methodist History, Doctrine and Polity 2
  • Logon 244 – Evangelism in the United Methodist Tradition
  • Logon 101 – Biblical Literature 1

Drew also offers a Doctor of Ministry concentration, the “Global/Online” program, which makes extensive use of internet education. Several courses are offered online and students continue to communicate through the program phase online.
