Co-Pastors, Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church, Saratoga Springs, New York
9:30 am – 12 noon
Seminary Hall, Room 101
We live in a digital culture, shaped by technology of all kinds. Information and entertainment are available in a multitude of formats, some as small as a cell phone. In the midst of this cultural wave, congregations are faced with making ancient worship forms relevant to a digital generation. In the past two decades, many churches have adopted some form of technological media for worship, with varying degrees of relevance and success.
Participants in this class will encounter the uses of digital media in worship settings. Using examples from congregations of various sizes, they will explore the creation and implementation of contextually relevant media for their worship settings. This will include potential applications, basic design principles, introduction into congregational settings, and building design and implementation teams.
