Classes without Quizzes: "Developing Volunteer Leadership" - Room 210, Seminary Hall

Lecturers: Rev. Johnnie McCann, Pastor, St. Luke Baptist Church, New York; Adjunct Faculty, Drew Theological School and Rev. Carole McCallum, Retired UM Elder, Greater NJ Annual Conference; Adjunct Faculty, Drew Theological School

With churches relying on volunteers to lead programs, serve on committees, and help grow and nurture their congregations, it is vital to have the tools needed to encourage involvement and develop leadership.  This seminar will be an interactive dialogue that examines the theological reasons for people to respond to volunteerism.  What motivates people to volunteer and how can the church support them in their endeavors?  What kind of rewards do volunteers receive and need to expect before becoming involved?  Bring your experience and questions as we discuss a range of ideas and approaches.

Theo School students may attend at no cost, but registration is required.  To register, contact Nancy Vander Veen at nvanderveen@drew.edu .
