Student Phone Services
Read below for a description of the phone services students can opt to use at Drew.
Phone line
Students have the option of requesting a phone line in their room. Only one phone line will be provided per room, so you if have a roomate you will need to share the line. After you request a phone line, your phone number will be emailed to you, along with instructions on how to use it. There is no fee for requesting a line, we do charge for long distance and international calls (see Personal Authorization Code below). You also need to provide your own phone.

Voice Mail
Voice mail at Drew is similar to voice mail on your cell phone. If your line is busy or if you don’t pick up after 4 rings, the call will be transferred to a voice mailbox and the caller can leave a message. You can access your voice mailbox to check messages from any phone. Voice mail is optional and will only be provided if you request it on your Phone Services Request Form. Only one mail box per room can be requested. There is no charge for a voice mailbox.
Personal Authorization Code (PAC)
Personal Authorization Codes (PACs) are required to make calls to any off-campus number, including local and toll-free calls. This includes faxes. Your PAC can be used from any phone on campus, so you can request one even if you don’t request a phone line for your room. Long distance calls are billed at $0.06/minute. International calls have varying rates (see Student Calling Rates). There is no charge for incoming, local, or toll free calls.

Viewing your Bill
Students who use their PAC will receive a montly invoice via email with a list of calls and charges. You can also view your current and past charges online via a web portal (for instructions on using the portal, go to http://www.drew.edu/telecommunications/phone-network/manuals-and-guides/viewing-phone-charges). Note that you cannot pay your phone bill using this portal! It is for informational purposes only. To read about paying your phone charges, see “Paying your Bill” below.
Paying your Bill
Phone charges will be added directly to your main student accout at the beginning of each month. This is the same account that tuition, room and board, and common area damages are charged to. You can view your balance at any time through https://campusweb.drew.edu. Visit the Business Office web page for payment options.
***A note on registering for classes: Many students wonder if outstanding phone charges will prevent them from registering for classes. The answer is that phone charges are no different from any other charges on your student account. If you have a balance on this account at the time of registration, you may not be able to register for classes, depending on how high the balance is. Although phone charges by themselves are generally not high enough to prevent you from registering, we encourage all students to check their balance before they attempt to register, just to be safe. Contact the Business Office if you have any questions about paying your student bill.***
