What attracted you to Drew University?
The small classes and access to professors
Why did you apply to be an RA?
I wanted to be a part of the Res. Life community and I enjoy the creative aspects of the RA job. I also wanted to develop as a leader and meet many different people.
Advice to new Drew students?
It’s better to try something new and learn that you don’t like it than not to try anything new and never learn what you are good at or what you enjoy!
What are your floor/door decorations?
Because my theme is morning, the door decorations are pancakes with blue berries for eyes and a smile and cut strawberries around the pancake. For floor decorations I am making a big sun for the residents to write on, writing inspirational quotes about the morning on strips of colored paper, and a bulletin board that has puzzle pieces representing the residents and how they fit in, showing the diverse community on our floor.
Why would you encourage others to apply to be an RA?
Being an RA challenges you to be creative and confident and provides the opportunity to learn new skills and meet people outside of your typical circle of friends.
What are you looking forward to in the upcoming year?
I am looking forward to upper level classes, which focus on my major in more depth and learning how to be a better leader in my role as an RA and the Women’s Ministry Coordinator, getting to know my residents and fellow staff.
