President's Message Regarding Academic Restructuring, 4/28/17.
Dear Drew faculty and staff,
As I outlined in my message to the community on March 28th, one part of SHINE 2, the second phase of the current short-term strategic plan, is restructuring of the academic administration. The goal of this restructuring is to bring the three schools, the libraries, and other academically-focused units closer together administratively to support and strengthen our educational mission. Additionally, this process will reduce the number of administrators, administrative costs, and duplication of effort in behind-the-scenes functions.
The Academic Leaders Group (ALG) – Associate Provost Debra Liebowitz, Dean Chris Taylor, Dean Javier Viera, Associate Dean Jessica Lakin, and Associate Dean Melanie Johnson-DeBaufre – have been engaged in discussions about the academic structure throughout this semester. All faculty and staff members are invited to an open forum in which the ALG and I will present and discuss the new academic structure. This meeting will be on Tuesday, May 9th, at 4:00 in Crawford Hall.
