New Director at Helm of Career Center

Drew University's new Director of the Career Center, Kim Crabbe, is preparing to make the Center a more integral part of every Drew student's experience.  Crabbe brings to Drew 17 years of career services experience and plans to build on the Career Center's existing programs by introducing more comprehensive career development initiatives.

"I hope to help Drew students put their goals in focus by providing career assessment and counseling, internship opportunities, and multimedia resume, interview and job search training," said Crabbe.  "My primary philosophy is to engage students in career exploration as early as their first semester and to work with them over the next four years to develop a personalized career success plan."

While at the College of Staten Island, Crabbe created the Pathfinder Program, an inventive series of workshops that guide undergraduates through the processes of choosing a major and conducting career research.  The program’s success has prompted several college career centers to express interest in duplicating it at their own institutions, and she hopes to offer similar mentorship to Drew students.

Crabbe is a member of the National Career Development Association, Middle Atlantic Career Counseling Association, Metropolitan New York College Placement Officers Association and New Jersey Association of Colleges and Employers.  Prior to coming to Drew, she was the associate director of career services at the College of Staten Island.  She holds a bachelor’s degree from that institution and a master’s in education from St. John’s University.
