Joe Afanador: Founder, Foot Soldier Barbering, which gives free haircuts to homeless individuals
A philosophy major who minored in business and Spanish, Joe was a Civic Scholar who earned the Creative Community Award for his Foot Soldier Barbering project that gives free haircuts to homeless people.
Madeleine Blossom: South Coast Repertory
A theatre arts major, Madeleine was honored twice at this year’s College of Liberal Arts Awards, collecting the Ralph R. and Ruth K. Johnson Shakespeare Prize and the President’s Award in Theatre Arts.
Tyler Dorrity: PhD Candidate, Columbia University
Tyler, a Baldwin Honors Scholar who majored in biochemistry and molecular biology and minored in public health, earned two prizes this year: the Winifred B. Baldwin Fellowship and the Novartis Awards in the Sciences – Biochemistry. In addition, last year he received honorable mention for the national Goldwater Scholarship.
Marta Muncharaz Duran: Analyst, BlackRock
A Baldwin Honors Scholar, business major and political science minor, Marta completed three NYC Semesters, played for the women’s tennis team, received the Business Prize, benefited from the Dean Paolo Cucchi Student Research, was a College Class of 1960 intern and served as a senior analyst for The Fund.
Engy Gadelmawla: Raith Capital Partners
A political science major and Spanish minor, Engy received the Hardin Prize, Robert Fisher Oxnam Prize and the Norman Guy Prize in Speech (second place).
Kendra Polk: Frontier Promotions
Kendra, who majored in biology and minored in Spanish and public health, received the Ben Salmon Service Recognition Award and in 2017, the Thomas D. Sayles Jr. Student Award for Outstanding Service to Community.
Tiago Dos Santos: Chubb Insurance
Tiago, who majored in business studies and Spanish, served as a captain of the Drew cross country team and twice made the Landmark Conference All-Sportsmanship Team.
Jared Sutton: Legislative Aide, New Jersey Senate
An international relations major with minors in leadership for social action and Middle East studies, Jared is a Baldwin Honors Scholar who served two years as student government president and won the Ewing Award for Leadership and Public Service and the Hardin Prize.
