Who at Drew had the best summer? Social Media Manager @TedAtDrew rallied to find out the answer via email and twitter (hashtags #DrewU and #WhatASummer) and got bombarded with endless great adventures. Here, some that made him extremely jealous:

Juliet Marsh ’15
I spent July traveling in South Africa, Zimbabwe & Botswana, going on safaris and meeting some amazing local people.

[Your twitter handle is another reason we’re including this.]

Courtney Cooke ’14
I spent the summer living with a 94-year-old Newport, R.I., socialite, a member of a beach club so exclusive Donald Trump was rejected because he has new money.

Liam McGlinchey ’15
This summer I interned at a shopping mall in Shanghai. Every weekend was spent at a new cultural gem, including a serene river village used as a set in Mission Impossible III.

Caroline O’Leary ‘17
I went to the FIRST robotics championships for 2 years in a row with my robotics team!

Noran Elzarka ’15
Two weeks in Morocco studying the economics & sociology of migration & postcolonial feminism.

Peter Mabli G’14
This may be too nerdy a project, but I decided to build and test a replica of a 19th-century studio camera.

Emma Levin ’16
Reading some #WhatASummer tweets… Is becoming employee of the month at Panera Bread tweetworthy?

[Yes. Yes it is.]

Ben Schaefer ’15
I traveled to Ghana on a DIS to 9 of the 10 regions in Ghana; we were hosted by the Asante Queen Mother.

Lynne DeLade ’12, associate director of creative services
Spent 11 adventure-filled days traveling the roads of Northern Ireland with Bill Rogers and a group from the Caspersen School.

Rosemary McLaughlin, Theatre Arts department chair and professor
Getting hooked (thanks to Ted Johnsen) on Twitter, getting blocked by Roseanne Barr and followed by Henry Louis Gates.

[Roseanne? Really?!?]

Felicia Cappabianca, head coach, field hockey
Drew University Field Hockey went to the Cayman Islands for a pre-season training trip. We had 6 a.m. beach workouts, followed by swimming with stingrays (amazing!),  stand-up paddleboarding and sailing the sea on a catamaran.

[Communications staff took an exotic team-bonding day trip to Ringoes, NJ.]
