University’s Center for Civic Engagement will present prestigious awards for outstanding service. Recipients include Morris County residents, Morristown Neighborhood House.

MADISON, N.J.—Morristown’s Neighborhood House will be among this year’s honorees at the Drew University Civic Engagement Showcase and Awards Ceremony. The April 18 event will feature an exhibition of local, national and global service projects spearheaded by Drew students, faculty and staff. The awards presentation following the showcase will honor individuals and groups whose work has had a particularly positive impact. The entire event is free and open to the public.

“The Civic Engagement Showcase and Awards Ceremony is the one time each year when the Drew community comes together, along with its external partners, to recognize and honor our collective efforts to make the world a better place,” said Amy Koritz, director of Drew’s Center for Civic Engagement. “Each year, I am humbled by the commitment to benefitting others that I see on display at this event.”

The showcase, which will begin at 4:00 p.m., will feature the following service-based initiatives (subject to change):

  • Colleges Against Cancer

  • Newark Theater Collaboration
  • ESOL at Neighborhood House
  • Students for Sustainable Food
  • Civic Scholars Senior Projects (including the work of six graduating seniors)

  • Drew Disaster Relief

The awards portion of the program, which includes six categories of accomplishment, will begin at 4:45 p.m. The following honorees will be acknowledged:
