- Encyclopedia of Life Sciences –a comprehensive online resource for biology including the biological aspects of environmental science containing signed-peer reviewed articles and includes overviews and advanced material.
- Encyclopedia of Human Biology Reference 612.003 E56e 1997. Nine volume set covering 670 topics, but be aware that some information may be dated. Confirm/update the information with newer sources.
- Credo Reference has contains two general dictionaries of Biology: Collins Dictionary of Biology and Penguin Dictionary of Biology
