The Vivian A. Bull Academic Commons is now under construction!
The Academic Commons will bring both the Writing Center and the Instructional Technology Center into the central area of the library, along with support for INTO students and the Technology Helpdesk. Centralizing all these learning support services will afford exciting opportunities for creative cooperation. When finished, the new Academic Commons will house the library reference and technology assistance desks, additional computers, a self-contained technology training classroom, photocopying, scanning, and printing facilities, as well as traditional interlibrary loan and circulation services.
During its construction, expected to continue until late August, most of the main floor of the Library will be inaccessible, but Library services will continue.
There will be drilling on Tuesday morning, July 22, which is likely to be disruptive.
Since the former Reference and Microform areas are now work zones, we ask that our users go up the main staircase to Level E to get to the Library’s collections, which can all be reached via the stairs and elevator in the middle of the decks (the old section of the Library).
Public workstations are available in the Kean Room, and printers are currently at the Circulation Desk. A copier and a copier/scanner are now opposite the Circulation Desk.
Reference assistance is available at the Circulation Desk from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.
Handicapped access is limited. Please call 973-408-3486 for assistance during full service hours.
Thank you for your cooperation during this exciting period – and our apologies for any inconvenience.
