Finding Opportunities
Finding meaningful work that allows you to express your passions, interests, skills and values doesn’t happen in a single moment. No matter where you are on your career journey, we can get you on track with planning and getting the real-world experiences that are essential to your future success. From individualized advising to 24/7 online resources, the Center for Internships and Career Development is committed to helping you launch your career.
The Center for Internships and Career Development connects students with both traditional, semester-long internship placements as well as shorter project-based internship opportunities offered by Drew alumnx. Students have the option to enroll in their internship as a 2- or 4-credit course to meet various degree requirements. For those needing financial support during the internship process, Drew offers several internship awards. Learn more about internships here.
Drew’s externship program helps you make informed career decisions by witnessing real-world work environments. Shadow a Drew alumnus, parent or friend throughout a typical workday and be involved with projects, attend meetings and meet with other members of the organization. Most importantly, have your questions answered by someone with experience in a field you are considering as a possible career.
On-campus student employment can be a powerful part of your Launch experience, of your academic, career or service exploration, and of your preparation for life after Drew. More than 500 students work on campus or with community partners through the Federal Community Service Program each year. Positions vary widely, with approximately 30 Drew departments, offices, and centers offering jobs each year in a diverse range of areas.
Graduate or professional school may be an important next step in your career journey. Advanced degrees can open up additional career paths, but come with significant time and financial commitments. Check out our graduate school guide and other information for more on how to best prepare for graduate school applications.
