With unseasonably chilly weather and a high chance of rain in the forecast, all outdoor events have been moved to indoor locations. The Installation Ceremony scheduled for Friday, October 2, at 11 a.m. will be in the Simon Forum. The Alumni Reception scheduled for 3 p.m. that day will be in Crawford Hall of the Ehinger Center. View the full agenda and live streaming information.

About 500 guests will join us for our celebration, which will impact the community in several ways. We sincerely appreciate your understanding for any inconveniences this may cause.

Please see details on these impacts below. Additionally please find FAQ here.

Classes on Friday, October 2, are cancelled so that faculty, students and staff can attend the Inaugural activities.

Drew faculty, students and staff who are not joining the Inaugural processional are welcome to find a seat starting at 10 a.m. for a 11 a.m. start to the Installation Ceremony. All attendees will be welcomed through the Bell Tower Entrance into the Forum, which is closest to the parking lot. There will be signage as well as Inauguration staff to provide directions. Coat and umbrella checks will be available starting at 8 a.m. for both those processing and guests arriving to see the ceremony.

Parking and Gate Access

Regarding access to campus and parking information for Thursday, October 1, and Friday, October 2, in conjunction with President MaryAnn Baenninger’s Inauguration, we are pleased to report, now that we have more concrete RSVP numbers, we will be able to accommodate parking for the majority of those who would like to attend on Drew’s campus. There is additional information as the following questions are answered below:

  1. What gate should I use to get on and off of campus?
  2. When will parking lots be closed and re-opened to accommodate our off-campus guests?
  3. If I have a Drew sticker and park on campus, where should I park on these days?
  4. Where will off-campus guests park on these days?

Community Consideration by Carpooling

We also encourage those who drive to our campus daily for work to consider carpooling on Friday so as to maximize our parking potential. As you are aware, we have a limited number of spots, and the only way we will be able to get everyone parked on campus is to consider some ride-sharing. Plus, it makes our Forest a little greener too.

Inauguration Vendor Parking

Starting on Monday, September 28, you will also notice parking spaces being taken up by external vendors and partners who are helping to execute the functions associated with the Inauguration. The parking lots around Mead Hall and behind the Simon Forum will have limited access beginning earlier in the week and will continue through this celebration. If you do not see a parking lot listed below and would like to know if you have access, please call Public Safety’s non-emergency line at extension 3379.
