Acknowledgment and Receipt of Employee Handbook
I understand that this handbook and all other written and oral materials provided to me, which replace all previously issued handbooks and policy statements, are provided as a matter of reference for informational purposes. Neither it, University practices, nor other communications create an employment contract or term.
I also understand that unless otherwise stated (i.e. Faculty Contracts), my employment relationship with the University is “at-will”, meaning that regardless of anything contained in this handbook and regardless of any custom or practice, the University makes no promises and remains free to interpret, review, and change policies, benefits, and all other working conditions without notice and without having to consult anyone or obtain anyone’s agreement.
I agree that neither this document nor any other communication shall bind the University to employ me now or hereafter and that my employment may be terminated by me or the University without reason at any time. I understand that no representative of the University has any authority to enter into any agreement for employment for any specified period of time or to assure any other personnel action or to assure any benefits or terms or conditions of employment, or make any agreement contrary to the foregoing.
I also understand and agree that this agreement may not be modified orally and that only the President of the University may make a commitment for employment. I also understand that if such an agreement is made, it must be in writing and signed by the President of the University.
