The Drew University Library is seeking a Weekend Supervisor in the Circulation Department.  This position is part-time at 20 hours per week. The Weekend Supervisor will work on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.  The basic fall and spring semester hours are Fridays 8 am – 3 pm, Saturdays  3 pm – 9 pm, and Sundays  11:45 am to 6:15 pm, although some flexibility may be available.  Schedule flexibility is required for the training period and during spring breaks, January terms, and the summer months when the library has fewer open hours and is closed on Sundays and some Saturdays.  Position available immediately.

Key Responsibilities:
Circulation supervisors are responsible for circulation desk services, minor facilities issues, and maintaining the safety and security of the building, patrons, and collections.  For most work hours, a Weekend Supervisor is the sole staff person in the library.   They are responsible for opening and closing the library and for monitoring the lobby during study hours.  All work hours involve public service; training and supervising student assistants; assisting patrons; and providing information about Circulation and, to the extent possible, the library’s databases and other reference tools when a Reference Librarian is not available.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required; library experience a plus.

Dependability and a strong desire to provide excellent service to our patrons are key attributes.  This position will additionally be responsible for billing, fines, and similar duties.
