12-month, full-time position: 35 hours per week/52 weeks.

Semester Hours (Sept.-May)
Fridays: 11:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
Saturdays: 8:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m.
Sundays: 12:00 noon-12:00 midnight

January Hours:
One weekend day and weekday hours in the late afternoon and evening

Summer Hours (June-Aug.)
One weekend day and a mixture of weekday day and evening hours

Reporting to the Head of Circulation, the successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the circulation desk operation during all work hours, and will be the sole staff person responsible for the library operation during most of the position’s semester work hours. Specific duties include responding to all Circulation inquiries during shifts, providing circulation services, handling building issues that arise during shift, and supervising and training student employees. Additional responsibilities include fine and copier/printer cash accounting, public copier/printer upkeep, student time sheets, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

A customer service orientation, a positive attitude, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and computer literacy. The ability to work independently and to make good judgment calls is essential. Bachelor’s degree required.  Library or teaching experience is a plus.
