General Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing emergency and non-emergency communication services for the campus community, in order to provide a safe and secure environment for the students, faculty, staff and visitors to campus.  This is accomplished through the technical operation of several telephones, police radios, alarm systems, the operation of computer systems and monitoring of the surveillance system.  Duties also includes dispatching for 911 services; police, fire and EMS services; updating and maintaining dispatch records and the relay of information to officers in the field as requested. This position will rotate shifts between the dispatch desk and the university gatehouse.

Gatehouse responsibilities include monitoring and recording vehicles and pedestrians entering campus, issuing parking passes and collecting parking fees.

Selected candidate must be available nights, weekends and holidays.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidate must have basic computer skills, excellent phone etiquette and good public relation skills.  Must also have the ability to work under pressure and multi-task.  Confidentiality is a must.  Qualified applicant will be trained in CPR Certification, Basic Telecommunication Course and Emergency Medical Dispatch Course.  In accordance with Department of Homeland Security regulations, successful applicants must be legally able to work in the United States.
