It is the mission of the Center for Career Development to empower individuals with the knowledge, tools, and resources to define one’s goals and create a plan to achieve them. Through a four-year developmental model, the Center works with undergraduate students from their first year to their last and beyond to prepare them for life after Drew.
Position Description:
The Employer Relations Coordinator will create and manage collaborations with new and existing employer partners for recruitment opportunities for Drew students and alumni. This position reports to the Director of the Center and supports both internship and employment opportunities. The Coordinator will work with staff, faculty, students, and alumni to identify career fields of interest and develop opportunities accordingly.
Responsibilities:
- Build successful relationships with employers and alumni in targeted industries and organizations
- Advise students and alumni on the process of and preparation for job searching
- Develop employment and internship opportunities for students and alumni
- Research employment areas and specific employers that correspond to the career interests of Drew students
- Create unique and customized recruitment initiatives with employer partners
- Market and promote recruiting opportunities to students and alumni
- Counsel students and alumni in all aspects of the job search (i.e., résumé writing, preparing cover letters, interviewing, job searching) through workshop presentations and individual appointments
- Participate in Center for Career Development strategic planning initiatives
- Manage all aspects of career fairs, on-campus recruitment, and employer information sessions
- Maintain an ongoing database of employer partners and prepare reports as needed, and assist in the development and maintenance of employment database, DrewLink
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (Master’s Preferred)
- Over 3 years experience in higher education or corporate recruitment required
- Exceptional communication skills (oral and written)
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Access
- Willingness to travel locally
- Experience with social media
- Organization skills
20 hours/week, 12 months/year
