Tuition Exchange

Tuition Exchange (TE) is a reciprocal scholarship program for the children of faculty and staff employed at over 600 private and public colleges and universities in the USA and the UK.  TE provides the opportunity for eligible dependent children to receive undergraduate scholarships at one of the participating institutions.

Faculty and staff with five (5) or more years of full-time service are eligible to apply for participation in the TE program.  Important note: Eligibility for the Tuition Exchange program does not guarantee acceptance at a TE member institution or ensure a TE scholarship.  TE scholarships are very competitive — there is no guarantee of a scholarship offer.

If your child is interested in participating in the TE program during the 2011-12 academic year and/or if your child is currently receiving a TE scholarship, please click here to print and complete an application.  Applications must be completed and returned to HR no later than November 5, 2010.

***Payroll Deadline***

HR and Payroll staff will be involved in all-day Banner training in October.  In order to process paperwork for the October 29 monthly payroll, all paperwork must be received in HR or Payroll no later than Wednesday, October 20.  All paperwork received after that date will be processed for the November 30 paycheck.  Please note that there will be NO exceptions. To ensure that paperwork is received by the deadline, we encourage you to hand deliver paperwork to Madison House.

Campus Conduct Hotline

The Campus Conduct Hotline is available 24/7 and makes it possible for you to report concerns about possible violations of Drew’s policies on a completely confidential and anonymous basis.  For more information about the Hotline and/or the Whistleblower’s Policy, go to “Information for Employees” on the HR Intranet website.

Health Care Reform — Dependent Children Up to Age 26

Health care reform legislation requires employers provide 30 days notice regarding the opportunity to enroll children in this plan.   Information regarding eligibility and instructions for enrolling your child(ren) will be provided with Open Enrollment materials in November (but to ensure compliance with the law, we are advising you now).  Watch for full details next month!

Telephone Directory Update

Final deadline for submitting changes for the Telephone Directory is extended until October 8. No changes will be accepted after this date.  Please email all changes to phonedirectory@drew.edu.

Using Your Insurance

Insurance and pension programs are governed by a set of rules that define what is available under the plan; this set of rules is spelled out in a document called a Summary Plan Description (SPD). The SPD provides information regarding what is and is not covered, how to file a claim, what to do if you want to appeal a decision, etc.  Faculty and staff are advised to read the SPD before seeking services under a plan.  SPD’s are located on the HR Intranet site under each benefit.  Questions?  Call Fredi at x3795 or Deborah at x3515.
