Eligibility
To be eligible for the January Housing, you must meet one of the qualifications listed below:
Qualifications – Housing priority given to one or more of the following:
- Enrolled in Jan Term 2013 course
- Academic Internships (Field Work)
- Approved Independent Study
- Honors Work
- Civic Engagement
- International Student
- Athlete-Approved by Athletic Department
- Employed by the University during January (min. 20 hrs/wk.)
- Enrolled at St. Elizabeth College
Cost
The room and board cost for January 2013 is:
- Full January Term – January 2nd to January 26, $1,059
- Three Week Session – January 6th to January 26, $882
- Two Week Session – January 13 to January 26, $574
- St. Elizabeth Student – January 22 to January 26, paid by department
Application
College students who qualify must complete the January Experience Housing Application by December 18, 2012. This is also the deadline for requesting a particular building, room or roommate. Application can be completed on-line by going to the link below. Be sure you select the application for January 2013 Housing.

Preference
Do you have a preference of what hall and/or roommate you’ll have over the January term? Please complete the January housing preference form.
January Housing Requests
Once you have completed the on-line application you will have the option to complete a January Housing Request form where you can request a specific hall, room and roommate. If you already live in Welch or McLendon and want to stay in your same room you should complete this form and indicate your hall and room. You should have the permission of the residents of a particular room or suite before making the request to reside in their unit.
The Housing Office will try to accommodate these requests but they are not guaranteed. The Housing Office reserves the right to change housing assignments without notice.
January Residence Halls
Welch and McLendon Halls will be used to house students over January.
Cancellation-Refund Policy
There is a $50 charge for canceling housing prior to the day that you are to start January Housing and, a $100 charge for canceling after the date your requested housing period begins.
January Experience – Date To Occupy/Check-in
Wed., Jan. 2 – entire January Experience housing; Jan. 2 through Jan. 26, 2013
Check-In: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Residence Life Office, Hurst (unit 14)
Sun., Jan. 6 – Students enrolled in a Jan Term course; from Jan. 7 through Jan. 26.
Check-In: 12 noon until 3 p.m., Residence Life Office, Hurst 14. Please do not arrive after 3 p.m. as the Residence Life staff will not be available. Those arriving later in the week can pick-up their key at the Residence Life Office from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mon. through Fri.
Sun., Jan. 13 – Students enrolled in a Jan Term course; from Jan. 14 through Jan. 26.

The cost of January Housing must be paid in full at the Business Office before moving into January Housing.
ID Cards & Meals
All meals will be served in the Commons and begin with dinner on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, and end with lunch on Saturday, January 26, 2013.
Your regular ID card will be required for admission to Snack Bar during the January Experience.
Date to Vacate & Crossover
January Experience residents who are not registered for the spring semester and students who are not cleared with the Business Office are not allowed to crossover to their permanent rooms. These students must vacate their rooms by January 25, 2013, by 12:00 p.m. Students registered for spring semester must relocate to their spring room assignment during the designated time for crossover. Information will be posted regarding the time for crossover.
St. Elizabeth Cross-Registered Students
Students taking courses at St. Elizabeth College may move on to campus on January 22, 2013. There will be no charge for housing for students registered with St. Elizabeth College from January 22 to January 26, when the spring semester begins at Drew. Students must complete the on-line application and be registered for the spring semester at St. Elizabeth College.
You are responsible for all belongings of the occupant left in the suite and room and the condition of the room and common area.
