Eligibility

To be eligible for the January Housing, you must meet one of the qualifications listed below:

Qualifications – Housing priority given to one or more of the following:

  1. Enrolled in Jan Term 2014 course
  2. Academic Internships (Field Work) with faculty email confirmation
  3. International Student
  4. Athlete-Approved by Athletic Department
  5. Employed by the University during January (min. 20 hrs/wk.)
  6. Enrolled at St. Elizabeth College

Cost

The room and board cost for January 2014 is:

  • Full January Term – January 3rd to January 26,         $1,096
  • Three Week Session – January 6th to January 26,        $913
  • Two Week Session – January 13 to January 26,            $594
  • St. Elizabeth Student – January 22 to January 26, paid by department

Application

College students who qualify must complete the January Experience Housing Application by December 16, 2013. This is also the deadline for requesting a particular building, room or roommate. Application can be completed on-line by going to the link below.  Be sure you select the application for January 2014 Housing.

January Housing Requests

Once you have completed the on-line application you will have the option to complete a January Housing Request form where you can request a specific hall, room and roommate.

All athletes are paired with a roommate.

The Housing Office will try to accommodate these requests but they are not guaranteed. The Housing Office reserves the right to change housing assignments without notice.

January Residence Halls

Holloway Hall will be used to house students over January.

Cancellation-Refund Policy

There is a $50 charge for canceling housing prior to the day that you are to start January Housing and, a $100 charge for canceling after the date your requested housing period begins.

January Experience – Date To Occupy/Check-in

Prior to checking in, you must have fully paid for January Housing at the Business Office and your balance cleared.  Check-in occurs in the Residence Life Office in Hurst Hall on the check-in date between the hours of 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.  Please note that we can accommodate after hours or weekend check-ins.  Your student ID card is required to check-in.

Full January Experience housing; Jan. 3 through Jan. 26, 2014
Check-In: Friday. Jan. 3rd or Monday Jan. 6th  10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

January Term from January 6 through January 26, 2014
Check-In: Friday, January 3 and Monday, January 6

January Term from January 13 through January 26, 2014
Check-In: Friday, January 10 and Monday, January 13

Current St. Elizabeth Students January 22 to January 26, 2014
Check-In: Friday, January 17 and Tuesday January 21. Note that Drew University will not be open on Monday January 20th in observance of MLK Day.

ID Cards & Meals

All meals will be served in the Commons and begin with dinner on Friday,  January 3, 2014, and end with lunch on Saturday, January 26, 2014.  Your student ID card will be required for admission to Snack Bar during the January Experience.

Date to Vacate & Crossover

January Experience residents who are not registered for the spring semester and students who are not cleared with the Business Office are not allowed to crossover to their permanent rooms.  These students must vacate their rooms by January 26, 2014, starting at 10 a.m and completing not later than 4 p.m.   Students registered for spring semester must relocate to their spring room assignment during the designated time for crossover.  Information will be posted regarding the time for crossover.

St. Elizabeth Cross-Registered Students

Students taking courses at St. Elizabeth College may move on to campus on January 17 or 21, 2014.  There will be no charge for housing for students registered with St. Elizabeth College from January 22 to January 26, when the spring semester begins at Drew.  Students must complete the on-line application and be registered for the spring semester at St. Elizabeth College.

January residents are responsible for all rules and policies.  Rooms must be left in the same condition as arrival.  Students will be charged for room damage and common area damage.
