Location & Dates

Summer Housing will be located in Hoyt-Bowne Hall.  Summer Housing is available from Monday, May 19, 2014 through Friday, August 22, 2014.


Summer housing is available, as space permits, to Drew students whose business account has been cleared and, who qualify for summer housing by taking summer courses, working at the University for over 20 hours per week, involved with an internship or field work or, an international student.  Priority will be given first to students registered for Summer Session courses, then to students employed by Drew University for at least 20 hours per week.  All other requests will be as space is available.


Students who meet the above eligibility requirements must complete the on-line Summer Housing application by Friday, May 9, 2014.  Any application received after May 9th will be accepted on a space available basis.

Room Payments

(meal plan not included)

All summer residents are responsible for paying their rents in accordance with the schedule below.  No summer housing arrangements will be made for partial weeks.  If you stay any part of the week you will be billed for the entire week.  No exceptions will be made.  The Business Office will bill you for the entire time that you intend to stay in Summer Housing.  Meals are not included with Summer Housing.

  • Double room – $209.00 per week
  • Single room – $227.00 per week

For billing purposes Summer Housing costs are figured in week increments (Sunday to Saturday).  Mid week arrivals or departures will pay for the entire weeks cost.  The Housing Office will contact students with details regarding key pick-up and check-in.

Refund Policy

There is no housing deposit, however, a student will be charged $50 for cancelling housing after the beginning of their summer housing start time.  If he or she does not arrive for their scheduled summer housing and does not inform the Housing of their non-attendance, they will be charged for their entire stay.  

Interim Housing

Students in need of housing before May 19, 2014, or August 22, to Sept. 1, 2014 will be charged for Interim Housing at a cost of $53/day which also includes meals. Please indicate if you will need Interim Housing on this form.

Air Conditioners

Hoyt is not air conditioned so window air conditioners are permitted in Summer Housing only. The student must provide his/her window air conditioner and contact the Facilities Office at 973-408-3510 for installation. There is a $75 installation/utility fee. All air conditioners must be removed by the time that the student ends summer housing.

Summer Housing Application

  1. Go to https://housing.drew.edu/myhousing
  2. Enter your name and password. Click “Login”
  3. Click “Login to Apply On-Line”
  4. Select the application, College of Liberal Arts (Undergraduate),  Summer 2014
  5. Read over the Housing Agreement. You must agree to these terms to proceed.
  6. Answer all questions.  You must enter a date to start Summer Housing and the end date.  Click on “Continue”
  7. You have now completed the Undergraduate Summer Housing Application.
