Housing is available at the end of May orientation. The University cannot accommodate new students in teh residence halls any earlier.
A $250 housing deposit must accompany this application and be sent to the Drew University Housing Office. If you accept housing and then decline, teh housing deposit will be forfeited.
Housing assignments are made in conjunction with the Dean’s Office of the appropriate school. Factors such as scholarship, date the application is received, degree program and availability of space are considered whne assigning incoming students.
Single Student Housing Units
Single and double rooms are available. Double rooms are eslightly less expensive than single rooms, but two students will share a bedroom. Singles and doubles are in shared living environments in either suites or houses. All students have acess to kitchen, bathroom and lounge facilities. Bedrooms and some common spaces are furnished. Bedrooms have a bed, dresser, and desk chair for each student.
Family Housing Units
Family housing is offered to married couples, domestic partners and families. All units are assigned based on family size and the University’s policy on capacity limitations. One-bedroom, two-bedroom and three-bedroom units are available. All units are unfurnished. No more than two children may share a bedroom. Children sharing a room must be of the same sex or both under 10 years old as of July 1.
University Policy on Family Housing Unit Capacity
One-bedroom units are located in Wendel and Tipple. The living/dining/kitchen areas are approximately 12’ x 14’ and the bedroom approximately 10’ x 12’. Bathrooms have a stall shower. These units are reserved for couples, couples with one child under the age of ten or a single parent with two children of the same sex or two children of the opposite sex if both are under the age of ten. The maximum capacity for a one-bedroom unit is a family of three people.
Two-bedroom units are located in Wendel and Tipple. The two-bedroom unit is similar in size and layout to the one-bedroom unit, but with one additional bedroom. Two-bedroom units are limited to couples and single parents with at least one child over the age of ten, single parents and couples with two children of the same sex or two children of opposite sex under the age of ten. The maximum capacity for a two-bedroom unit is a family of four people.
Three-bedroom units are located in Wendel and Tipple. Three-bedroom units are limited to couples and single parents with at least two children of the opposite sex, one of whom is ten or more, or three children. The maximum capacity for a three-bedroom unit is a family of six people.
