No, walk-ins are not permitted at this time. Please call ahead to schedule.
Isolate yourself from others as much as possible. This means staying in your room and avoiding public places where you can potentially expose yourself to other people. If you are around others, be sure to wear a face covering and keep at least 6 feet apart. Contact the Health Service to discuss your symptoms with one of our healthcare providers.
For medical emergencies, call 911. For other medical needs, there are several urgent care centers near campus which are listed on the
Emergency Information page of our website.
Yes! Flu shots are still available while supplies last.
Many of our services will continue to be available this semester, including: immunizations; physicals; sick visits; STD testing; contraceptive counseling and gynecological care. Certain services such as nebulizer treatments for asthma will not be available. Appointments will be by telehealth whenever possible, and in person when needed.
Covid-19 testing is available at the Health Service for students on campus who have symptoms suggestive of Covid. Call the Health Service ahead of time to schedule an appointment. Screening testing will also be conducted throughout the semester by our outside vendor, New Bridge Medical. You can also visit the
NJ Department of Health website for other locations. If you get tested for Covid-19 outside of Drew and the result is positive, please inform the Health Service.
You will need to isolate in order to prevent the spread of the virus. Most people with Covid-19 have mild to moderate symptoms that can be managed at home. If you are a residential student, isolation housing is available on campus. Food and other services and supports will be available, including daily health check-ins. Follow the advice of your healthcare provider or the Health Service staff about when you can discontinue isolation. If you are tested at a facility other than Drew Health Service and receive a positive result, please notify the Health Service as soon as possible: 973-408-3414. If you are a residential student and you receive a positive result when the Health Service is closes, contact your RA.
See the CDC website for the most up-to-date information on Covid-19.
Both isolation and quarantine are public health measures that involve separating people from one another, in order to prevent the spread of illness. Isolation is separating those who are sick (they either have symptoms or have tested positive for Covid-19) from others who are not sick, to prevent it from spreading. Quarantine separates and restricts movement of those who were exposed to a contagious disease such as Covid, to see if they become sick.
You will need to quarantine for 14 days. When someone tests positive for Covid-19, close contacts of that individual will be notified that they were possibly exposed and should quarantine. The name of the ill individual will not be disclosed for privacy reasons. If you were identified as a
close contact, you may be contacted by the Health Service and/or by public health officials from the Public Health Department. It is important to respond to any calls from the Health Department or the Health Service so we can provide instructions and guidance about how to keep you healthy. Quarantine housing will be available on campus for those unable to return home, in addition to other services and support.
