The Institute will convene between July 30th and August 3rd, 2012. Courses meet Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM – 4:30 PM, and Friday, 8:30 AM -12:30 PM

Parking at Drew University

Attendees at the AP Summer Institute may park on Drew University’s campus, in either the Tilghman Lot or the Sitterly Lot. The 2012 APSI parking pass (PDF) must be printed by all attendees before arriving on campus, and must be displayed in the front windshield of your vehicle when parked on campus.

Lodging

If you are interested in housing arrangements, The Ramada Inn & Conference Center of East Hanover, which is a ten minute drive from our campus, is offering a special rate of $69/night plus 15% tax for either double or single occupancy to participants of this institute.  This rate includes a complementary hot breakfast buffet and transportation to and from Drew’s campus at appointed times, once daily, Monday through Friday.  To make reservations, please contact The Ramada Inn & Conference Center by July 12, 2012 at 973-386-5622.

Refreshments and Lunch

Tuition includes morning coffee and lunch daily in the campus dining hall, located in the University Commons. In the evenings, attendees may find a number of happenings, restaurants and cafes in downtown Madison, a ten-minute walk from the Drew campus. Several restaurants are located near the Ramada Inn, including Dunkin’ Donuts, Chili’s, Romano’s Macaroni Grill, Baja Fresh, Penang, and Don Jose Mexican Restaurant.

On Monday, July 30th, the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies is hosting a luncheon in your honor and we cordially invite you to attend. The luncheon will be held in Mead Hall, the historic mansion that is the centerpiece of our campus. It begins at noon and will end in time for you to return to the classroom for your afternoon session. The luncheon will offer you an opportunity to learn more about Drew University.

Check-in and Welcome

Registrants for the Institute will check in at the foyer of the Dorothy Young Center for the Arts, near the front of Drew University’s campus. Check-in begins Monday, July 30th, at 7:45 AM. Please plan to arrive promptly, to allow sufficient time to familiarize yourself with the location of your course. Walking directions between buildings and parking locations can be found using the online map of campus. Transport from the Ramada Inn will coincide with this schedule. Our staff will be available in the registration area until 9:00 AM on Monday, July 30th. After that time, we can be located in S. W. Bowne Hall, room 110.

Individuals needing special assistance should contact the Office of Hospitality, Conferences, and Hospitality at 973/408-3103 at least five working days prior to the event in order to ensure appropriate arrangements.

Laptops

Laptops are not necessary in class as rooms are fully mediated enabling instructors to project information to the front of the room. But if you would like to bring a laptop or wireless device you are welcome to do so! All classrooms are WiFi accessible and Drew “guest accounts” can be established for you.
