Belly of the Whale: The Surprising Geography of the Coming-of-Age Novel in Young Adult Literature
Featuring Dr. Patricia Lee Gauch G’83, G’88
Patricia Lee Gauch, for twenty five years Editorial Director of Philomel Books (Penguin) was the editor of novelists Brian Jacques, T.A. Barron, Janet Lisle and Andrew Clements as well as National Book Award winner Katherine Erkskine (for Mockingbird). She has been associated with writing programs at Chatauqua, Manhattanville College, Rutgers University, and Drew. A lecturer at writing programs and conferences nationally, she has reviewed young adult books for The New York Times, and holds a doctorate in English Literature from Drew.
$10 per person includes a reception following the discussion.

The Werner Kofler Arts & Letters Endowment was endowed in 2011 by Werner Kofler T’03, G’05, to provide a Doctor of Letters literary discussion group for the Arts & Letters program in the Caspersen School of Graduate Studies.
