If you are switching rooms on campus for the
Spring semester:
Contact your current CRD and let them know you are
moving to another room, even if it's within your own Complex. Head over to the
Housing Office (below the Library) or the ResLife Office (next to Health
Services) to get a "Room Change Request Form". This is the first step to
changing your room. Then, head down to the Housing Office to see what may be
available to you. Once you find a location, you will need your current and new
roommate's signature, and your new and current CRD's signature. Email your
current CRD. In the email, indicate when you plan to move out so a member of
ResLife staff can help fill out the Room Condition Report with you. At this
time, your key will be exchanged but you may keep your original FOB. Remember,
if you have a bedframe in storage, you must make arrangements with the HERB RD ahead of time
because it must be returned to your room before you leave. Following all the
paperwork procedures insures that the Housing Office's rosters are up-to-date
and protects you from "improper check-out" fines, as well as from unnecessary
end of the year charges.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact
your CRD.
If you are going abroad or graduating and
will not be here for the Spring semester:
Contact your RA or CRD to schedule an appointment to
check-out. Check-out should only be completed when you are completely moved out
of your room and you are ready to hand in your key. Take your final exam
schedule into consideration. During check-out, your Room Condition Report will
be completed, you will sign off on it, and hand in your key (and FOB if you are
graduating). At this point, you are not allowed back into this room (even if
your roommate is still there). Make sure you let Housing (x3681)
aware of your situation so you are not billed for living on campus for the
Spring semester. Remember, if you have a bedframe in storage, you must
make arrangements with an RA or the HERB RD ahead of time because it must be
returned to your room before you leave. If you have rented a refrigerator or a
loft, please contact the point person (who you contacted to receive it) and let
them know you are leaving. They will inform you how to go about returning the
rented item. Finally, following all the paperwork procedures insures that the
Housing Office's rosters are up-to-date and protects you from "improper
check-out" fines, as well as from unnecessary end of the year charges. If you
are Studying Abroad, don't forget to check with the IOCP Office to make sure
affairs are in order. If you are graduating - contact the Registrar's
Office!
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact
your CRD.
If you are going to transfer or commute for
the Spring semester:
If you
haven't done so already, make an appointment with the Dean's Office (x3390,
Sycamore Cottage) to complete your transition from residential student to
commuter or transfer.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact
your CRD.
