James D. Wojtkiewicz arrived to the Drew community in February 2007 with much excitement to get back into higher education! After graduating Monmouth University in 2006 with a B.A. in History and
Education, James became a certified teacher for the State of New Jersey. While in pursuance of his career, James reminised about being an RA, community building, and the great feel he got as an undergraduate and decided to return back into Student Affairs.
James was born and raised in Jersey City, NJ and attended Saint Peter's Preparatory for high school. While James challenged himself with various organizations and activities in high school, he constantly worked towards achieving Prep's philosopy of "A Man For Others." Along with his upbringing from his family, James contributes his compassion for people, this University, and his position from Prep's values.
After graduating Prep in 2002, James and his family moved to Spring Lake Heights, NJ. During his attendance at Monmouth University, James was initiated into various honor societies and won distinguished awards. It was a sad day in May 2006 when James walked the steps into the PNC Bank Arts Center for graduation.
Leaving behind his family and friends, James went into the corporate world for a few months while trying to achieve a position in higher education. James traveled the East Coast as a Corporate Trainer for a prominent company.
Finally, in February 2007, James was hired as a Complex Residence Director for the Suites here at Drew! James remained in the Suites and helped his RA Staff rebuild the reputation and community that it was once viewed as into a vibrant and ever-growing respectful home. After spending a year and a half in the Suites, James moved into the largest complex at Drew - HERB. James welcomed the challenge with open arms and has been extremely successful in establishing and building a phenomenal community where residents are able to learn, grow, and flourish in their living-learning environments.
James is actually involved in many organizations and committees both on and off campus including: Residence Hall Association (RHA), Mid-Atlantic Council of Undergratuate Housing Officers (MACUHO), Professional Training Committee for the Office of Residence Life, The Technology Committee for the Office of Residence Life, and many other fulfilling adventures.
