United Methodist Archives Center

The Methodist collections of Drew University ( search library catalog ) and the General Commission on Archives and History of the United Methodist Church ( search inventory of holdings ) are housed in the United Methodist Archives Center .

Interior of the United Methodist Archives Center at Drew UniversityDrew University 's Methodist collection is an international collection of published and unpublished Methodist works, including early editions of the works of John and Charles Wesley, major 19th , 20th , and 21st century Methodist periodicals, and all USA dissertations concerning Methodism. It holds almost 35,000 books in print and microform, and over 2000 periodicals, 550 of which are currently received. Manuscript holdings include over 100 letters by John Wesley as well as a sizable collection of letters to and from other Wesley family members. Access to manuscripts and artifacts is handled through the General Commission.

The General Commission on Archives and History is the official archival repository for The United Methodist Church. Its collection includes records from the various denominational agencies within the United Methodist tradition, and personal papers of several bishops, denominational leaders, and missionaries from the 19th and 20th centuries.
