Email Reference Help
We check this online mailbox daily, Monday-Friday. We will respond by the end of business, 10 PM, the weekday following receipt of your question. You will receive an answer, a progress report, or a referral to an appropriate source of information.
Through this service we answer Ready Reference questions, those which, generally, result in factual answers and can be answered in a short period of time. We may advise you to come into the Library to work with a Librarian on Research or lengthy questions.
The Drew University Library Reference Counter is staffed for walk-in assistance Monday-Friday 9 AM-5 PM and Sunday-Thursday 6 PM-10 PM during the Fall and Spring semesters. During vacation periods and the Summer, we are available from 12:30 PM-4:30 PM. Our telephone number is (973) 408-3588.
Q and A NJ is a 24/7 chat reference service, provided by New Jersey public and academic librarians. Q and A NJ can provide information from both the public Internet and copyrighted sources.
It is best used with Internet Explorer. If you want to use Mozilla or Firefox, you must disable Java (not Javascript) in the browser before entering this service. Otherwise you will probably get a looping error message, requiring you to hold down Control-Alt-Delete and exit the browser. If you are using Firefox on our public workstations, please re-enable Java when you have completed your Q and A NJ session.
On entering the service, you must enter a name and your New Jersey zip code (07940 for Drew). If you provide your email address, you can be sent a transcript of your session. Then click "Connect" to begin your session.
