Blackboard at Drew

Blackboard is an effective and easy way for faculty and students to exchange information about their courses and communicate over the Internet.

Through a simple and straightforward interface, Blackboard allows faculty to put their syllabus, course documents, PowerPoint presentations, grades, and discussion topics all in one easy location for students to access. Information is protected by a required Drew username and password so that only students within your course can access the materials.

Most CLA faculty at Drew are using Blackboard as a supplement to their traditional face-to-face classes while a handful of Theological faculty are using it for distance learning courses.

The Faculty Lab (x3942) provides training and instructional design suggestions for any faculty member interested in using Blackboard as well as course creation and archival. The STEL (x3003) provides additional help to faculty and students while the CNS Help Desk (x3205) provides user support.

If you are interested in using Blackboard for any of your courses, you must register for some basic training, "Getting Started", before the Faculty Lab will create your course.
