Essay
In the box below, provide a brief (equivalent to 1-1.5 pages) essay expressing your interest in participating in the Drew Summer Science Institute and describing your proposed project. Your essay must address your particular choice of faculty mentor and describe your role in the proposed project. You may discuss why you want to participate in a faculty mentor's ongoing research, and/or you may choose to present a research question of your own. Information that may be helpful to the selection committee includes, but is not limited to:

  • classes you have may have taken with the faculty mentor
  • previous laboratory experience related to the proposed project
  • background reading you may have done for the proposed project
  • potential for your summer work to lead to an Independent Study project or Honors thesis
