Bill Mutter has been a painter for over 40 years, a ceramic sculptor for over 20, a professional graphic designer for over 30 and a cartoonist published in Playboy Magazine. His paintings and sculpture have been included in exhibitions from Gracie Mansion Gallery on the Lower East Side to the Whitney Museum of American art at Philip Morris.
His work is always about childhood heroes (often outsiders) and memories and range from circus freaks to heavily tattooed people and professional wrestlers. He began creating ceramic sculpture in the '80s with a series of fighting cowboys. His most recent series is of children in halloween costumes.
