Bodysculpting

Instructor: Diane Acciavatti

Ms. Acciavatti has created an ‘equipment-free’ Program that will ‘sculpt’ and ‘define’ the muscles that are, often, bulked up from weights, or neglected by various aerobic exercises. She offers a delightful invitation to achieving optimum fitness of body and mind. Acciavattis’ methodology is based on the masterful body sculpting techniques of The Lotte Burke Method, Calinetics, Jazz Dance, and Martial Arts disciplines; all apparatus-free.Diane will “find your Muscles”, and your Muscles will find your “Confidence”!

Ms. Acciavatti is the sole proprietor of her Personal Training Company, New Bodies Unlimited; and has been the Personal Trainer and Fitness Advisor for such celebrities as Hollywood Film Producer, Linda Yellen, and Weatherman, Sam Champion. She has been a Master Class Guest Instructor for the NY Jets and the NY Giants;

Zumba  I

Zumba® Fanatics achieve long term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exhilarating hour of caloric-burning, body-energizing, awe-inspiring movements meant to engage and captivate for life!

In the past years Zumba® has become nothing short of a revolution. Coining the concept of fitness-party™ and making fitness fun, Zumba® has spread like wild-fire, and has positioned itself as the single most influential movement in the industry of fitness.

Boxing

Instructor: Charlie Barber

Cardio Boxing is a great way to condition the whole body because it builds muscle strength, endurance, balance, agility and coordination all at the same time. Boxing has also been shown to promote well-being because it builds confidence and discipline. Most cardio-box programs consists of variable heart rate work and actual boxing techniques.
Sports scientists agree that cardio-boxing is one of the best forms of exercise, because it conditions the total body and provides a complete workout for your cardiovascular and endurance systems.

The major benefits of cardio-boxing include:
• Increased Stamina
• Increased Strength
• Increased Speed
• Increased Coordination
Cardio-boxing also promotes a person’s well being by strengthening their self-discipline and when combined with strength training it is truly the total package for self-defense and overall fitness.

Mids

Instructor: Narshonna Townes

Are you searching for that sleek abdominal look where you can show off your toned midsection? This 30 minute abs,mids, and glutes class will focus on your core and thighs. This class will give you greatly improved posture and toned abs. This class is an excellent compliment to your cardiovascular workouts and is great for all levels of fitness.

Mentalstenics

Instructor: Diane Acciavatti

This innovative “stretch-meditation” class will train Students to “develop & synchronize” their “mental & physical” capacities to strengthen, lengthen, and simultaneously, control their “mind & muscles”. Teachings will be based on “breathing & visualization” techniques, in strategic combination, with a multiplicity of traditional (ala yoga, Pilates) and non-traditional (ala Acciavatti) “muscular stretches”. This unique discipline requires the desire to develop extraordinary “emotional patience” and “physical endurance”; thus, creating the perfect methodology for Acciavattis’ art of “Mental Stretchesthenics”.

All who participate in this class, will experience the benefits of stress reduction, stress management, self-control, experience exceptional lengthening of their large muscle groups, mental & physical balance, and an over-all sense of well-being and health.

Happy Hour Yoga

Instructor: Jane Caufield

A class for those with a little more yoga experience.  Proper alignment, movement and breath work will be practiced and further developed. This is the perfect class for those who want a mid-day yoga practice and more energy for their afternoon.

Yoga

Instructor: Julie Gross

A lively, energetic class that synchronizes breath with movement! We'll draw from Baptiste, Vinyasa Flow, and other yoga styles. You will focus on breath and alignment while building strength, flexibility, balance and concentration. Everyone is welcome; come challenge yourself at your level. It's a practice to work into gradually and modifications are offered. Bring water and be prepared to sweat as you go with the flow.

Zumba II

Instructor: Sarah Ligorski

The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms, and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat. Add some Latin flavor and international zest into the mix and you've got Zumba®!

Mixed Martial Arts: Classical and Modern

Instructor: Dayn DeRose

An introduction and practice of the diverse skills and tactics which were and are "complete" martial arts, including the use of PRACTICE weapons. Applications of the techniques and tactics, specifically for self defense will be covered.
Along with Throws, take-downs and ground grappling, there will be a healthy amount of boxing tactics, adapted to smaller gloves.

Dance Aerobics

Instructor: Narshonna Townes

Dance Aerobics is a fun, energetic way to lose weight, gain endurance, build muscle, learn rhythm and new dance steps. Not only will we dance, we will also be doing punches, kicks and crunches! Before you know it, you'll be dancing like a pro! You'll also get nutrition tips from an expert on how to eat healthy and stay fit. This class will keep you pumped ALL semester!

Skip Rope, not Class

Instructor: Libby McClayton

Although many people typically associate jump rope with childish rhymes, jump rope has evolved to much more than "Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear, Turn Around". Athletes from all over the world demonstrate, compete, and spread the sport of jump rope with the hope that one day it will become an Olympic sport. People get hooked on jump rope because it's one the most enjoyable, easy-to-learn, beneficial and creative forms of exercise. In fact, jumping rope can burn up to 1,000 calories an hour; while toning muscles throughout the entire body! Many professional athletes, such as Muhammed Ali and Buddy Lee, also incorporate jump rope as cardiovascular conditioning in their training programs in order to increase agility, coordination, endurance and timing.
