FIRST YEAR STUDENTS
Visit the Career Center and make an appointment with a Career Counselor. Explore possible majors and career options through career counseling and career assessments.
Ask for tutoring help if you're having problems with a course. Don't wait too long.
Get involved with a sport, club, or volunteer organization.
Explore part-time jobs or community service work. Even a few hours per week with help you develop new skills.
Learn about internships you might do next year.
Write a resume and a general cover letter. Have them reviewed by a Career Counselor.
Work on your computer skills. Strong computer skills are useful in every career.
Attend "Career Talk" information sessions and career workshops.
Read all emails and notices sent out by the Career Center and Internship Office.
