
Melissa Sloan, Assistant Professor of Sociology and Behavioral Science, received her Ph.D. and M.A. degrees in sociology from Vanderbilt University , and her B.S. degree in psychology from Carnegie Mellon University . Her areas of interest include social psychology, emotions, mental health, work and occupations, and research methodology. Melissa has studied the expression of anger in the workplace (
Work and Occupations 2004) and has recently collected survey data from 2,500 state employees to examine the relationships among emotional behavior in the workplace, job characteristics, and psychological well-being.
