“Playing God”: Disciplinary Perspectives

From contemporary end-of-life concerns to the centuries-long efforts to engineer organisms, the introduction of human design, decision-making, and real-world application into areas where mortals have often feared to tread marks a compelling area for further inquiry. “‘Playing God’: Disciplinary Perspectives” is a faculty panel and discussion intended to analyze this intersection of pressing social issues with deeply held religious discourses.  For more information click here.

                              Global Virtual Event to Promote Cooperation in the Middle East

Drew University’s Center on Religion, Culture & Conflict (CRCC) is proud to announce that it has signed on as a partner for an innovative global event to promote person-to-person cooperation in the Middle East.  

Emmy winner Mandy Patinkin and legendary folk singer Pete Seeger are among those slated to participate in an unprecedented global celebration of individuals and organizations advancing the cause of peace in the Middle East through cross-border cooperation. With Earth and Each Other: A Virtual Rally for a Better Middle East (www.withearthandeachother.org) is an internet-based event that will be broadcast on Sunday, November 14, 2010 at 1 pm eastern. Organizers expect thousands of people around the world to watch and participate through locally-organized rallies.
