FelCapFelicia Cappabianca, Head Coach

Felicia Cappabianca began her tenure as Head Coach of Drew’s field hockey program in 2007. Just one season into her tenure with the Rangers, Cappabianca administered a remarkable turnaround. Drew improved by eight wins and reached both the Landmark Conference and Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference tournaments in ’07.  The 2008 season saw the Rangers return to the ECAC Tournament.

A 2002 graduate of Boston University with a B.A. in psychology, Cappabianca was the assistant at the University of New Hampshire from 2003 through 2006. She was responsible for all aspects of recruiting, scouting and program operations for the Division I program. Prior to UNH, she began her coaching career at her high school alma mater, West Essex Regional and also served as an assistant with Montclair State University for one year.

Cappabianca was a four-year letterwinner on Boston University’s field hockey team. She was a National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-American, a two-time All-Conference selection and a two-time conference champion. As a tri-captain, Cappabianca played in a school-record 85 games and compiled career totals of 22 goals and seven assists for 51 points. Cappabianca continues to play field hockey at the national level and competed in 2006 for New England Fire, a United States High Performance Training team.
