Masco head shot

Guiding the Rangers for the third decade is Vince Masco, the winningest baseball coach in Drew’s history.  Masco immediately turned the program around with the team more than doubling its number of wins from the previous season and capturing the conference title.  In 2006, Masco led the Rangers back to the MAC Freedom Playoffs for the fourth time and recorded his 338th career win.

Masco, who was selected the 1998 Coach of the Year by the New Jersey Baseball Coaches Association, was voted the 1999 Middle Atlantic Conference Freedom League Coach of the Year after guiding the Rangers to their first Freedom League title.  In addition, he has guided the Rangers to five ECAC playoffs and four MAC postseason appearances.  His 165th career victory on April 17, 1996 elevated him to first on Drew all-time victory chart, while in 1998 he became the only Drew coach in any sport to ever record 200 career victories. Masco upped the ante in 2004 and cemented himself as a legend in college coaching.  On April 9 the Rangers defeated Delaware Valley College 7-6 giving him his 300th career win, and a place not only in the Drew history books, but in the NCAA as he became one of the top 50 all-time winningest Division III coaches.

A 1971 graduate of Trenton State College, Masco has also served as Drew’s associate director of athletics for 16 years. He is on numerous committees including the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Baseball Selection committee, the MAC Baseball Sports Committee, serves as the chair of the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Baseball Selection committee, and maintains a role on the ECAC Basketball committee after coaching the Drew basketball team from 1986-95.

Erik Holck, Assistant Coach

Erik Holck, a four-year letterwinner at Rider University, joined the Ranger staff for the 2007-08 season.  An experienced Division I college pitcher, Holck brings playing experience, youth and energy to the Drew program.

A key reliever all four seasons with the Broncs, Holck appeared in over 76 games in his collegiate career, a school record.  He threw nearly 200 innings with ten wins and four saves in his career and earned a tryout with the Phillies before joining the Ranger staff.  As a freshman, he was named to the NJCBA All-Rookie Team and as a senior captained the Rider squad.  He was also a member of the League Champion Luray Wranglers of the Shenandoah Valley League.  He was president of the Rider Student Athlete Advisory Council and an MAAC All-Academic honoree.

A graduate of Hunterdon Central Regional, Holck graduated from Rider with a degree in Business Management.  He currently resides in Readington, NJ.
